Alex Chong
Auto Electrician - Contractor

Alex has been an auto electrician for over 30 years. He started off as an apprentice before owning and running his own auto business in Wellington City. Approximately 17 years ago he sold his business and became an independent contractor. He is well respected within the industry and contracts to Lloyd's Garage who feel very lucky to have his skills and credibility.

Carl Nelson
Automotive Technician - Apprentice

Carl worked for us back in 2007-2009 as a labourer which he thoroughly enjoyed but sadly we weren’t able to offer him an apprenticeship at the time. Carl then went on to become a qualified butcher until 2019. He then contacted us expressing his wish to come back and complete an apprenticeship. The timing was perfect and Carl started with us as an apprentice mid-2019. Luckily Carl had completed some mechanical courses years ago and was able to get his credits recognised and transferred. Carl all going well should be fully qualified by end of 2021. Carl is a valued and respected member of our small team, loves meeting new people and really enjoys the challenges of the automotive industry.

I have for all the years I spent in New Zealand, from 2004-2014, had all my vehicles maintained by Christensen's, now Lloyd's Garage and can never fault their work, reliability, performance, friendliness, polite, courteous, very approachable and damn right overall fantastic service. Why did I always use them well, because of the dedication in making the whole experience from start to finish as professional as possible, I feel that they give far better service than I have ever experienced in all the countries I have lived and that's a lot... Their professionalism has always been the best they can give, Lloyd's have got better and better over the years, not that it needed to, as they have always clearly put their customers, service, performance first and this is next to none. They bend over backwards for their customers in order to make sure their vehicle is in full working order and back like new, well as new as a vehicle can be, their experience faultless as faultless as can be. They always have given 110% over the years, this has always improved year after year, like anything if you maintain it and keep it up, it will always be good and sometimes better. Over the years a business is like life, the more you put into it, the more you learn and the more you improve and the more you get out of it. Like they said, they say it as it is, no point in beating around the bush. So rock on down, seek out the friendly face of Nem in the office, that without her and the team, I surely wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere but here. They are truly simply the best in my opinion, not that my opinion counts, but if anyone ever asked where's best place to go I wouldn't hesitate for one 100th of a second in recommending the best I can ever suggest and that's Lloyds Garage Ltd, where people and vehicles count.

I have used Christensen services for many years and they have looked after all my cars. Andrew and his team are knowledgeable, diligent and friendly. They are happy to explain work done and work that needs doing in a way that is easy to understand as is non-threatening to those of us who are not mechanics.

For those who work in Wellington like me, its amazingly easy to drop off your car in the morning, catch the train into Wellington and then pick up the car on the way home.

I've never had any problems with them or any complaints in over 8 years. Fully recommended.
